Historic Renovation of a Nursing Simulation Lab for a New Program Identity

This BTR project renovated and expanded the current nursing department within the historic Main building of the College of Saint Benedict, creating a new and prominent identity for the program. The nursing department almost doubled in size to support the program’s needs and goals. The new space is welcoming with its improved lighting and finishes which coordinate with and respect the historic character of the building. The renovated department features a nurse station and individual simulation rooms which provide students with a setting that is representative of current clinical settings. To mirror the health care environment, technology upgrades allow students to monitor “real time” vitals and give them access to patient records and treatment information. Three large classrooms and a meeting room provide flexible collaborative space.
