Jackson City/County Library – Jackson, MN

The existing Jackson City / County Library was an attractive, welcoming, and functional community asset. However, several areas of improvement were identified to increase the performance of the facility and library service. BTR was selected to assist the library board in evaluation of the existing building condition, prepare a needs assessment, and develop a building program to reflect current and anticipated community needs.

Based on the study, BTR designed an addition and renovation that was completed in 2016. A new floor plan was developed where the adult lounge, children, and teen areas were shifted to new locations to more efficiently use the library space. Highlights of the project include: a new HVAC system, larger meeting room, new ADA entrance from the parking lot, more computers, flexible, modular service desk, and updated finishes and furniture.
