Maxine Houghton Wallin Special Collections Research Center at Andersen Library, University of Minnesota Twin Cities – Minneapolis, MN
This Special Collections Research Center occupies the Ground Floor of Elmer L. Andersen Library and includes a full educational suite with opportunities for individual research and group exploration. The facility enhances traditional capacities for learning and research with a wide range of individual user stations, and an enhanced seminar space full of tools for conversation, content manipulation, and visualization. An exhibit gallery located prominently near the lobby highlights a special display for the historic Ricci Map, appropriate for the sensitive material not yet accessible to the public.
The Special Collections Research Center will create an innovative venue in which to share and explore our cultural record, supporting interdisciplinary research and enabling educational opportunities heretofore not possible. The Center will match the Libraries’ internationally recognized collections with an equally distinctive facility, providing a transformative user experience.
