Special Collections Research Center Exhibit and Gallery Spaces and Rare Book Storage

The Maxine Houghton Wallin Special Collections Research Center (the Wallin Center) occupies the ground floor of Elmer L. Andersen Library and includes a full educational suite with opportunities for individual research and group exploration. The facility enhances traditional capacities for learning and research with a range of individual user stations and an enhanced seminar space full of tools for conversation, content manipulation, and visualization.  An exhibit gallery located prominently near the lobby highlights a special display for the historic Ricci Map, appropriate for the sensitive material yet accessible to the public. The Wallin Center is an innovative venue in which to share and explore our cultural record, supporting interdisciplinary research and enabling educational opportunities before not possible. The Wallin Center matches the library’ internationally recognized collections with an equally distinctive facility, providing a transformative user experience.
