NEW MAIN - METROPOLITAN STATE UNIVERSITY
The 59,450 square foot New Main building, serves as a connecting link between the existing buildings and houses classrooms, science labs, and computer labs, as well as student services spaces such as the health center. The building incorporates a grand cafeteria and lounge overlooking downtown. A series of outdoor terraces provide a dramatic 180-degree view of the surrounding community, including downtown St. Paul, the Mississippi River and the State Capitol.

MINNESOTA STATE UNIVERSITY MANKATO - JULIA A. SEARS RESIDENCE HALL
In conjunction with student life design experts, Ayers/Saint/Gross out of Baltimore, the BTR/ASG team designed this new 600 bed residence hall for Minnesota State University, Mankato. The residence hall consists of a combination of single rooms and semi-suites distributed on four floors. The new residence hall also includes a cafeteria and coffee shop.

NORTH HENNEPIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES BUILDING
This new building provides a major entry and identifying element for the entire campus.  The new 43,000 square foot facility reinforces major pedestrian circulation patterns while providing a single point of access for students, faculty and visitors. The building centralizes application, registration and career counseling services in a highly visible service center. In addition, classrooms equipped with state-of-the-art instructional technologies are conveniently located within the building.

BETHEL UNIVERSITY - HERITAGE RESIDENCE HALL
This 270-bed residence hall for Bethel University  is designed to serve as an upper class dormitory during the school year and a conference center during the summer. The rooms are organized in three-bedroom suites, with the suites on each floor sharing common amenities including kitchens and laundry facilities. The residence hall also features a student lounge with a fireplace and computer/study rooms. It is fully air-conditioned for summer use.

WINONA STATE UNIVERSITY - MAIN LIBRARY
The new 108,000 square foot "Library of the Future" at Winona State University was designed to accommodate the new and changing technologies of the information age, enabling students to access information in all available formats and media. As patterns of study shift to more group collaboration and cross-disciplinary research, the library will be flexible and adaptive to the unknowns of the future.

BETHEL UNIVERSITY DINING HALL ADDITION
When Bethel University needed to expand the seating capacity in their dining hall, BTR took advantage of the natural beauty of the site and created a simple transparent dining room overlooking the creek that runs through the campus.

MINNEAPOLIS COMMUNITY & TECHNICAL COLLEGE - T-BUILDING RESTORATION
Originally built in the early 1970's, the exterior masonry and curtain wall of the original Minneapolis Technical College were both failing when BTR was engaged to redesign the exterior and correct the exterior water damage. The result was a completely new exterior masonry face and fresh new look to the age worn building.

METROPOLITAN STATE UNIVERSITY-FOUNDERS HALL / ST JOHNS HALL
The extensive remodeling and reconstruction of this 40,000 square foot office and classroom facility required that the existing facility, originally designed as a hospital, to be stripped down to its concrete structure. The ensuing reconstruction included the development of an efficient floor plan consisting of offices at the perimeter with support services and conference rooms in the interior portions of the building.

BETHEL UNIVERSITY -  SCIENCE, ART AND TECHNOLOGY EXPANSION
This addition to an existing building at Bethel University is part of the campus master plan developed by BTR. The project includes 34,000 square feet of new construction and significant remodeling. The addition for the multipurpose academic building includes space for faculty and staff offices, classrooms, science laboratories and art studios.

SAINT PAUL ACADEMY AND SUMMIT SCHOOL
St. Paul Academy has recently undertaken several design projects to enhance their facilities including the new Middle School and Summit Center designed in association with Graham Gund Architects and a Dining Hall addition. These projects are part of larger master plan scheduled for completion in 2010.

METTEN COURT STUDENT APARTMENTS SAINT JOHN'S UNIVERSITY
The strong modern architecture of the Abbey Church at Saint John's University, designed by Marcel Breuer in the late 1950s, has strongly influenced all of the subsequently built facilities on the campus. This 93-bedroom student housing project responds to the monastic character of the campus architecture by using straightforward building materials and forms.  The plan is arranged using L-shaped units for the first and second floors of the courtyard corners, with a second unit option designed as a three-level apartment, both unit types housing four students.

NELSON RESIDENCE HALL - BETHEL COLLEGE AND SEMINARY
This 12,000 square foot addition expands an existing dormitory by adding twelve two-bedroom suites with three beds each, for a total of 72 new beds. The negotiated contract project began construction in the spring and was completed for occupancy in the fall of the same year. The dormitory expansion is one phase of a master plan study completed by the firm which has studied how to accommodate the needs and changes of the campus for the next twenty years.
